If you would like to have a voice to the GFP, GFP Commission and Legislators the SDBGC may be for you.
We have been concerned for several years about the lack of hunters voice regarding several Big Game issues being considered when decisions are being made.
We are planning a meeting on Feb 12 at Als Oasis in Oacoma from 11-4pm. If you are interested in getting involved or just want more information, send me a pm and check out the FB site. I can email our strategic mission statement and add you to our email distribution list.
Main points of concern include; lack of accurate data from random reports, elk numbers and permit allocation, access to public lands, season structures and dates, NR archery permits and pressure put on limited public parcels, January antlerless hunts, landowner permit allocation and an overall reactive management process vs a proactive approach. The AG, Grazing and chamber of commerce lobbyists have a voice we may not always agree with, we’d like to be a Resident Big Game hunters voice to the decision makers
